BLAVAL Solar2 L7e Solar Electric Vehicle 3 Door 2 Seat
The Solar2 is built on the ARK solar vehicle architecture as an L7e class heavy-duty electric quadricycle, and holds EEC whole vehicle type approval under certificate e13*168/2013*02250*00. It is a three-door, two-seat vehicle on a load-bearing body structure, built to automotive process standards.
Performance comes from a 25 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor driving the rear wheels, with a 23.66 kWh NCM622 pack and a 96 V control system. Range is 300 km NEDC, extending to over 400 km on the high-efficiency E-LOOP configuration, with consumption around 5 kWh per 100 km.
There is also a commercial argument that is easy to miss. Under EU Regulation 168/2013, electric vehicles with fewer than nine seats originating in China are subject to the additional anti-subsidy duty. Vehicles in the L6 and L7 categories are excluded from that additional duty. The Solar2 therefore attracts only the 10 percent basic duty, which changes the landed cost materially for European buyers.
Under EU Regulation 168/2013 the Solar2 sits in the L7 category, so it attracts the 10 percent basic duty and not the additional anti-subsidy duty applied to larger electric cars.
01
EEC certified, and in the right category
Whole vehicle type approval under EEC certificate e13*168/2013*02250*00 means the vehicle is already homologated for European registration, rather than requiring a separate approval per importer.
As an L7e-CU electric quadricycle it also sits outside the scope of the additional anti-subsidy duty on Chinese-built electric cars with fewer than nine seats. Only the 10 percent basic duty applies.

300 to 400 km on about 5 kWh per 100 km
A 23.66 kWh NCM622 pack and a 96 V control system give 300 km NEDC, and the E-LOOP energy recovery system extends that to over 400 km by recovering deceleration, coasting and braking energy back into usable range.
Charging is through the on-board charger from a 220 V supply, taking about eight hours from 20 percent state of charge. The roof photovoltaic system adds about 30 km on a day with good light.

An unusual, demonstrable technology story that fits resort, attraction and rental operations where the vehicle is part of the experience.
Technology
The systems behind the range
01
Full roof photovoltaic generation
About 30 km of range added every day by the sun. While the vehicle is parked, the photovoltaic system feeds the power battery and cuts out automatically once it is full. While the vehicle is moving, solar power is directed to loads such as the air conditioning first, which reduces the load on the electronic control system and improves acceleration and climbing. In poor weather the battery alone still delivers the full range.
02
E-LOOP energy recovery system
Range improved by 30 percent. The E-LOOP system integrates deceleration kinetic energy, coasting energy, braking energy and photovoltaic energy with battery management matching and the electric power characteristics of the drive motor, controller and pack. Drive mode and energy feedback are unified so recovered electricity is actually reused.
03
V2L vehicle power management
3 to 6 kW of 220 V AC power on tap. A bidirectional inverter turns the traction battery into a mobile energy storage station. The discharge gun delivers 220 V AC through its own socket at up to 3 to 6 kW, covering camping, fishing, hunting, self-driving trips and emergency backup when the grid is down.
04
Automatic torque and speed switching
5 kWh per 100 km. The vehicle switches between high and low speed modes according to the driving situation. On gradients it drops into a low speed, high torque mode for climbing ability, and returns to the high speed mode on open roads to save energy. Consumption is around 5 kWh per 100 km.

FAQ
Solar2 questions
What is the L7e classification and why does it matter?
L7e is the European light quadricycle category under Regulation 168/2013. It matters commercially because the additional EU anti-subsidy duty on Chinese-built electric cars with fewer than nine seats explicitly excludes L6 and L7 category vehicles. The Solar2 therefore attracts only the 10 percent basic duty.
Does the Solar2 have European type approval?
Yes. It holds EEC whole vehicle type approval under certificate e13*168/2013*02250*00, which allows European registration without a separate per-importer approval.
What is the real-world range?
The published figure is 300 km NEDC, extending to over 400 km on the high-efficiency E-LOOP configuration. Real-world driving typically lands between 150 and 250 km depending on speed, load and weather, with about 30 km added on a day of good sunlight.
How long does charging take?
About eight hours from 20 percent state of charge through the on-board charger from a 220 V supply, with an input range of 220 V plus or minus 5 percent. The roof photovoltaic system reduces how often this is needed.
Can it carry cargo?
Yes. The rear area has a steel isolation net for cargo securing, and the vehicle is rated for takeout delivery as well as private use. It is a two-seat vehicle, so the load is carried behind the seats rather than with passengers.
Is it available in right-hand drive?
Yes. Right-hand drive supply is a major part of the range across Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia. Hand of drive is confirmed at order.
What is the E-LOOP system?
It integrates deceleration kinetic energy, coasting energy, braking energy and photovoltaic energy with battery management matching and the drive motor and controller characteristics, unifying drive mode and energy feedback. Recovered energy is put back to work, improving range by about 30 percent.
What safety equipment is fitted?
Three-point seat belts, hill assist and hill descent control, side impact beams, a battery management system with current and voltage protection, and central locking with child lock and window lock.
What colours are available?
Body colour is agreed against a physical sample or the paint code rather than a fixed published list, and custom colour matching is available against order quantity. Body colour, hand of drive and the destination market certification are confirmed together at order.
